We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced network engineers with Level 3, Tier 3, or principal support experience, strong scripting ability, enterprise infrastructure troubleshooting expertise, and interest in how network data supports intelligent infrastructure systems.
This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on network data review, enterprise infrastructure analysis, telemetry and log interpretation, anomaly classification, scripting, data transformation, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will review real-world data from deployed networks, analyze network behaviors, and help prepare structured network data for large-scale data and machine learning workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Professionals in this role may contribute to:
Network Data Review & Issue Analysis
- Review real-world data from deployed networks, including logs, configurations, telemetry, event streams, and related infrastructure data
- Label, classify, and analyze network behaviors, issues, anomalies, and recurring patterns
- Interpret logs, events, time-series metrics, packet captures, and troubleshooting evidence
- Apply Level 3 or Tier 3 troubleshooting judgment to identify root causes, stability issues, and meaningful network signals
Scripting & Data Transformation
- Write scripts or tools to process, clean, redact, classify, and transform network data
- Use Python, Bash, Ansible, PowerShell, or similar tools for log processing, compliance checks, monitoring support, configuration audits, or data preparation
- Help define schemas and structure for large-scale network data pipelines
- Support high-quality data preparation so raw infrastructure data can be used effectively in machine learning systems
Enterprise Network Support Expertise
- Apply hands-on experience with enterprise networks, including switches, access points, firewalls, and related infrastructure
- Work from real support scenarios involving outages, final escalations, RCAs, on-call troubleshooting, and stability issues
- Analyze end-customer network environments across industries such as retail, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, universities, hospitality, or similar sectors
- Collaborate with project teams to improve data quality, usability, and technical accuracy
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
- Current or recent experience as a Level 3, Tier 3, Principal Support Engineer, senior network support engineer, or comparable enterprise network specialist
- Hands-on experience keeping enterprise infrastructure online and stable through final escalations, RCAs, outage troubleshooting, and complex support cases
- Experience with end-customer enterprise networks involving switches, access points, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, routing, switching, or security appliances
- Scripting experience using Python, Bash, Ansible, PowerShell, or similar tools for network support, log processing, monitoring, configuration audits, or pipeline tooling
- Comfort interpreting logs, events, telemetry, packet captures, and time-series metrics
- Interest in how raw infrastructure data becomes input for machine learning and autonomous networking systems
- Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
Educational Background
- Academic backgrounds in network engineering, computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, data engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical fields may be relevant
- Equivalent hands-on enterprise network support experience may be especially valuable
- Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or comparable networking certifications may be helpful depending on project scope
Nice to Have
- Experience automating network support tasks or working with data pipelines
- Familiarity with telemetry systems, syslog, SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, or related observability tools
- Experience with log redaction, compliance checks, monitoring automation, configuration validation, or large-scale network data preparation
- Exposure to ML-ready data pipelines, infrastructure analytics, or autonomous networking concepts
- Availability for full-time project commitment depending on project scope
