Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) designs and manufactures cooling equipment and systems for comfort cooling, process cooling and refrigeration, together with the cooling coils that were the firm's original product. Founded in 1938, the company is headquartered in Jessup, Maryland, and employs more than 2,000 people across operations in 16 countries on four continents - the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe.
Its engineering work spans cooling equipment design and manufacturing, cooling coil technology, and the optimisation of water and energy savings. The company describes its aim as sustainable cooling, balancing reduced water use against reduced energy consumption in equipment built for demanding and essential environments.
BAC supplies customers in a range of industrial and commercial sectors, among them data centres, semiconductors, battery manufacturing, power generation, chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, primary metals, hydrogen, food and beverage processing, cold storage, supermarkets, commercial buildings, healthcare and district cooling.
The firm states a focus on building up its people for lasting careers, a passion for innovation, and a global workforce working alongside customers worldwide. The business traces its origins to a hand-built cooling coil made by founder John Engalitcheff Jr. in his garage.
