Gray Media is the largest owner of top-rated local television stations and digital assets in the United States. As of May 15, 2026 the company operates full-power television stations in 117 markets, reaching roughly 37% of US television households. It holds the top-rated station in 78 markets and the first and/or second highest rated station in 101 markets. Its portfolio spans broadcast television, local media, digital media and advertising, sports media production, and studio and content production.
Beyond its core station group, Gray Media owns the largest Telemundo affiliate group in the country, present in 46 markets, and Gray Digital Media, a full-service digital agency. Other properties include Raycom Sports, Tupelo Media Group, PowerNation Studios, and the production facilities Assembly Atlanta and Third Rail Studios. The mix of broadcast operations, digital advertising services, and film and television production offers work across data, advertising technology, media workflow, and content systems.
The company dates to January 1891, when it began as the Albany Herald in Albany, Georgia. It has since grown through acquisitions including Raycom, Quincy Media, and Meredith Corporation's Local Media Group, and now operates nationwide across the United States. Its stations are organised around local communities, and the business describes itself as market-leading in the local markets it serves.
