Lifeway Christian Resources is a nonprofit provider of ministry resources for the local church and an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention, operating without denominational funding. Founded in 1891 by Dr. James M. Frost, who began with a borrowed desk in the corner of a newspaper office, the organisation has been in operation for more than 130 years and reaches more than 160 countries across six continents.
Its work spans publishing and print production, content and curriculum development, music and media and film production, and event and camp operations. Products include Bibles, Bible studies, Christian books, church music, movies, Vacation Bible School materials, church supplies, camps, and events, all produced to help churches teach scripture, develop leaders, and make disciples.
Technical roles at the organisation have included support specialists, Bible study editors, and graphic designers. Income above operating expenses is reinvested into mission work worldwide. Staff are expected to be actively serving in their local churches, for example as Sunday School teachers, volunteers, or small group leaders.
