NextSilicon develops intelligent compute architecture (ICA), an approach that combines adaptive computing with self-optimizing software-hardware integration for high-performance computing. The company works across dataflow acceleration, software-defined hardware, RISC-V processor design and software-hardware co-optimization, targeting workloads in scientific research, web search, social media analysis, financial modelling and supercomputing.
Its product line includes Maverick-2, described as its first production dataflow accelerator. The device adapts dynamically to workloads in real time without code rewrites or vendor lock-in, and the company reports performance of up to 10x faster than leading GPUs while consuming less than half the power. Other products include the Intelligent Compute Architecture itself and Arbel, an enterprise-grade RISC-V CPU core built on TSMC technology and positioned against Intel and AMD.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, NextSilicon employs more than 350 people globally. It has raised over $300 million in funding to Series C stage, with investors including Amiti, Aleph, Liberty Technology VC, Playground Global, Standard Investments, StepStone and Third Point Ventures. Engineering work spans adaptive and dataflow architectures, RISC-V design and the co-optimisation of hardware with the software layers that run on it.
