Norton Healthcare is a not-for-profit health care system headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, and founded in 1886 as the John N. Norton Memorial Infirmary. It employs more than 14,500 people and records roughly two million patient encounters a year across Greater Louisville, Southern Indiana and nearby Kentucky communities, spanning hospitals, outpatient and primary care, immediate care, pharmacy, home health and rehabilitation.
Its technical work concentrates on telehealth, digital patient engagement and clinical research and trials. Notable services include Norton MyChart, an online portal through which patients access and manage their care; Norton eCare, a virtual and remote care service; and an in-house clinical research and trial programme. The system also operates Norton Children's, a paediatric division serving Kentucky and Southern Indiana, alongside oncology, heart and vascular, neuroscience, orthopaedic and women's care services.
The organisation's stated mission emphasises making care easier to navigate and more responsive to patients' needs. It invests in community outreach, health education and local partnerships across the region, and retains a faith heritage traceable to its founding infirmary.
