Osmo, established in 2022, develops digital olfaction technology that uses artificial intelligence to enable computers to perceive and reproduce scents. The company's work spans technical domains including neuroscience, machine learning, molecular mapping, and analytical chemistry.
Its Olfactory Intelligence platform integrates molecular mapping with machine learning to create a digital scent engine for reading and replicating smells. The separate Forge platform applies AI to discover new fragrance ingredients for the flavor and fragrance industry, claiming to do so four times faster than conventional methods.
Osmo has raised $60 million in Series A funding and achieved a key milestone by digitally capturing and re-synthesizing the scent of a plum, representing a first in the field.
