P-1 AI is developing what it terms engineering AGI for the physical world. Its product, Archie, is an AI agent designed to automate the cognitive work engineers carry out when designing complex physical systems. The system learns underlying physics and performs quantitative spatial reasoning, drawing on large, physics-based synthetic datasets generated by the company to address the scarcity of training data in physical product domains.
Rather than replacing existing engineering tools, the company positions Archie as a teammate that works alongside engineering teams, absorbing repetitive tasks and learning from real-world feedback. This approach to cognitive automation is intended to fit into established design workflows rather than supplant them.
Data center cooling is the initial deployment domain, with further target verticals including industrial systems, automotive, aerospace and defence. P-1 AI was founded by industry veterans, among them former Airbus CTO Paul Eremenko and co-founder Adam Nagel. The company has raised $23 million in seed funding.
