U.S. Anesthesia Partners (USAP) is a physician-owned and clinician-led provider of anesthesia services in the United States. Affiliated physician groups and clinical teams deliver care for patients, surgeons, facilities and payers across both inpatient and outpatient settings, carrying out more than 2m cases a year at over 700 facilities. The workforce comprises more than 5,000 clinicians and roughly 4,500 clinical team members, and the firm operates in states including Texas, Florida, Colorado, Ohio, Tennessee, Maryland and Nevada, as well as Washington D.C.
Alongside care delivery, the organisation runs a partnership and support platform for physician groups, supplying capital, infrastructure and business expertise so that affiliated practices can exchange operational and clinical best practices while retaining clinical governance of their own work. Some 1,500 physician shareholders form the largest shareholder group. Its stated technical domains include clinical quality and performance measurement, clinical governance, and healthcare operations and infrastructure.
Performance measurement is a formal part of the model: all practices receiving a CMS MIPS score earned positive performance results, more than 96% of patients rate their care as "Good" or "Great", and 30-day readmission rates for selected surgical procedures are reported at 45% below benchmark levels. The organisation describes itself as independently governed by physician shareholders and focused on consistent service quality for patients, surgeons, facilities and payers.
