University of Chicago Medicine is an academic medical center that combines clinical care, biomedical research and medical education within a single health system. Founded in 1927 and based at its Hyde Park main campus on the South Side of Chicago, it employs approximately 13,000 people and operates community hospitals and dozens of outpatient facilities across the region.
The organisation's work spans three areas. Clinical care services deliver personalised, whole-person care across the main campus, community hospitals and outpatient sites. Medical research is conducted by physicians and researchers in biomedical fields. Medical education programmes form the third pillar of its academic mission. Professionals working across these domains operate in an environment that generates large volumes of clinical and research data and requires close coordination between care delivery, investigation and teaching.
UChicago Medicine states a culture of collaboration, curiosity and compassionate care, alongside a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and to an environment in which every patient and team member feels valued and respected. Roles are based in the Chicago area, with the Hyde Park campus serving as the main hub.
