Virtua Health is an academic health system in South Jersey providing the complete spectrum of advanced, accessible, and trusted care across a regional hospital and ambulatory network. Its clinical work spans oncology, neurosciences, cardiology, transplant care, orthopedics, maternity care, pediatrics, and emergency medicine, alongside community wellness and outreach.
The system employs more than 14,000 colleagues, including over 2,850 doctors and clinicians. Its infrastructure comprises five hospitals, two satellite emergency departments, more than 40 ambulatory surgery centers and over 400 other care locations throughout the region.
Research and education are led through the Virtua Health College of Medicine & Life Sciences, an academic institution affiliated with Rowan University. Virtua also maintains clinical partnerships with Penn Medicine in cancer and neurosciences and with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in pediatrics.
Community programmes include the Pediatric Mobile Services Unit, which delivers pediatric services directly to the community, and the Eat Well food access initiative, focused on nutrition and food access. The organisation describes its mission as helping people be well, get well, and stay well.
