Viz.ai builds an AI-powered care coordination platform used by hospitals to detect and treat life-threatening diseases more quickly. Its software analyses medical imaging data - including CT scans, EKGs and echocardiograms - in real time, surfacing findings to clinicians so that care teams can be mobilised without delay. The platform is deployed in over 2,000 hospitals across the United States.
For engineers and researchers, the technical work spans computer vision, medical imaging analysis and clinical decision support, applied to regulated medical software. Viz.ai holds more than 50 FDA-cleared AI algorithms covering detection of life-threatening conditions across neurovascular, vascular, cardiac, pulmonary and trauma care. The company was the first to be awarded CMS reimbursement for AI.
The company also develops customised care pathways in partnership with pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Viz.ai was founded by Dr. Chris Mansi, a neurosurgeon, after a patient died from treatment delays despite successful surgery; the stated mission is to reduce systemic delays between patients and life-saving treatment.
