NLR is the Netherlands' premier applied research organization in aerospace technology, established in 1919. Operating as an independent knowledge organisation, it conducts research and develops solutions across a range of technical domains central to the aviation and space sectors.
Its work spans aircraft operation and certification, air traffic management, defence and security, space technology, sustainability and environment, and training and simulation. NLR operates from facilities in Amsterdam and Marknesse, collaborating extensively with industry partners, government agencies, and international organisations.
