Sequen AI, founded in 2024 and headquartered in New York, is a machine-learning company building what it calls a Behavior Design Engine for the enterprise. Its platform is designed to shape user behaviour in real time, re-ranking experiences within a single session from live behavioural signals rather than relying on static user profiles and historical snapshots. The approach rests on Large Event Models (LEMs), specialised neural networks trained on billions of user event sequences to predict the next user event, in a manner analogous to how large language models predict the next word.
The company reports that the platform processes more than 20 billion requests a month at sub-25ms latency, a level it reached in under 18 months from inception. Its first five customers have seen more than $162M in incremental revenue lift. Sequen AI raised a $16M Series A and sells to retail, marketplace, travel and other consumer enterprises.
The technical work spans Large Event Models, next-event prediction, reinforcement learning, search and retrieval, and low-latency inference and serving. The team describes itself as having "hyperscale DNA", with members who have scaled search and discovery at Etsy, Yahoo, HookLogic and Anthropic. The company emerged from stealth in 2024.
